Here is our first attempt at a family photo

P1010087

What's up with those two teenagers ?? Where is Dave and Nathan you ask?    Well those are both good questions, let me explain . . . first, Z and K didn't realize everyone including their friends would see theses pictures, judge for yourself the change once they understood : }  Secondly, Dave was teaching Nathan the family tradition of Elf dancing check it out at this site

Once Dave was done with the dance and Z and K were on board here are the results

Days go by so fast

Tonight we went and saw the movie Flicka,   for me it was an excellent movie.  Growing up with horses it really took me back.   There is a pure joy for me in connecting with an animal, appreciating and understanding the way God created them to think.   I'm sure to some that seems strange.  I guess that is the uniqueness of who God created all of us to be.

I could also relate to the need to really listen to others and allow them to become who they were created to become and sometimes that does not match up with our plans.     Good thoughts for a mom, friend, and wife.

I love it when a movie challenges my thinking and allows me to see my own life from another perspective.

Twas a good night ! !

It's been a little too long

Dave and I took Z and K to a Switchfoot concert tonight.  It was great !
My favorite song of the night . . .

Meant to Live

Fumbling his confidence
and wondering why the world has passed him by
Hoping that he's meant for more than arguments
and failed attempts to fly, fly.

We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside
Somewhere we live inside
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside

Dreaming about Providence
And whether mice or men have second tries
Maybe we've been livin with our eyes half open

Maybe we're bent and broken, broken

We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside
Somewhere we live inside
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside?

We want more than this world's got to offer
We want more than the war's of our fathers
And everything inside screams for second life

We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?

As I ponder these words in view of my struggles and those around me I must wonder how much I get in the way of what I was created for . . . hhmm

Romans 12:1-2  Therefore I urge you brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship.  Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. . . .

May my motives be pure and my mind renewed

Currently Reading
Through Gates of Splendor
By Elisabeth Elliot
see related

Wow, the guys who set up the xanga sites must not read like I do.   I rarely read one book at a time.  I am currently Through Gates of Splendor,  Traveling Light, and Sacred Marriage and I have about three books waiting in the wings.  I also would like an extra hour in each day just for reading.  Oh well
